The study examines the role work benefits play in shaping preferences for entrepreneurship versus employment career paths and influencing individual behavior in engaging and producing innovative outputs. Specifically, the study aims to investigate to what extent social safety net benefits matter relative to monetary compensation and other non-pecuniary incentives such as intellectual challenge, independence, and responsibility.
