Lupus Nexus Landmark Study: A Prospective Registry and Biorepository

The purpose of the study is to create a database of samples from participants with lupus to support future research on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

United States (Nationwide)

What will be asked of you

At visits, you and a member of the research team will review relevant medical (including medications and vaccines), personal, and social history. You will then go over clinician-reported outcomes with the research staff. This includes various questionnaires answered by you and your doctor. You will also fill out additional questionnaires such as surveys and check-box questions to identify patient-reported outcomes. Biological samples such as blood, urine, saliva, and/or stool samples will also be collected during the study and stored for further analysis.

Incentives

You will receive $45 per visit for taking part in this study. You will also receive $20 per stool sample collected.

In-person visits:
At least 1 at baseline, up to 8-14 dependent on cohort, additional visits if a flare occurs.
Total length of participation:
5 years

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Active Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), includes new onset (within 12 months)
  • Lupus Nephritis (LN)
  • Lupus flare within 30 days

Not eligible if:

  • Pregnant at time of enrollment
