Attention and Distraction an EEG Study

This research study aims to use electroencephalography (EEG) to refine our understanding of the neural mechanisms involved in suppressing distracting information.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 30 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Extended hours (M-F, early morning or evening)
  • Weekend hours, if needed

Location

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

You will do a few quick questionnaires, followed by an EEG session where you will complete a cognitive task with an EEG cap on your head.

Incentives

$30 for those not participating in Psychology 101

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate:

  • Right-Handed
  • 18-30 years old
  • Normal or corrected-to-normal vision

Not eligible if:

  • Color Blind
  • History of major psychiatric conditions
  • Left-Handed
  • Not able to have a tight cap on your head
