Survey of Music Therapists' Knowledge and Attitudes about Copyright Fair Use

Modern research has demonstrated that music can be an effective therapeutic tool. In music therapy, using patient-preferred music yields superior therapeutic results. The rub is patient-preferred music is often copyrighted music. Thus copyright law directly impacts this clinical discipline. Yet music therapists' understanding of copyright law is under-explored. To fill this gap, we propose to survey music therapists about their attitudes toward copyright.
