Physical Activity that Centers Empowerment (PACE)

Black and African American patients, as compared to White patients, are diagnosed with colorectal cancer more often and have worse outcomes. We are hoping to develop and test a physical activity intervention specifically addressing the needs of African American colorectal cancer survivors, since physical activity has been found to decrease treatment side effects, improve quality of life and reduce cancer recurrence. First, we will interview 10 participants to understand their experiences going through cancer treatment to develop the physical activity intervention. In the following phase, we will enroll 72 participants in the physical activity intervention.
