Gait Biomechanics in Healthy Individuals

The purpose of the study is to understand gait patterns of healthy, uninjured individuals. *This study is a collaboration with the UNC Sports Medicine Institute*

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 35 years
  • Male, Female

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Extended hours (M-F, early morning or evening)

Location

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

At a single visit, you will meet with a member of the study team and fill out some survey questionnaires and perform a gait biomechanical assessment. You will also undergo quadricep strength testing and a physical activity assessment.

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate:

  • Are between the ages of 18-35

Not eligible if:

  • Have a history of lower extremity orthopedic injury to your hip, knee, or ankle in the past 6 months.
  • Have a history of lower extremity orthopedic surgery to your hip, knee or ankle.
  • History of lower extremity fracture.
  • History of disease that affects joints or connective tissue
  • Use of ambulatory/assistive devices.
