The purpose of this research study is to identify the best initial treatment for achieving weight loss in older adults aged 65─85 years with obesity and multiple medical conditions. We will also investigate how to adapt the weight loss plan for those who struggle to lose weight after the first two months (8-weeks) of participation
We will ask you to complete some measures to assess your physical function, diet, perform bloodwork, and assess your muscle and fat mass using a special x-ray technique at these in-person visits. The other visits will be group-based, online visits (via video-conferencing) and you will interact with either a health coach, dietitian, or physical therapist.
