Drug that may help Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus

We want to know whether a new drug will help patients who have Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus (CLE). This drug has already been tested and shown positive effects for some people. We want to continue studying it to make sure that it is still safe and helps the greatest number of people.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

What will be asked of you

At each visit, you will complete some surveys about how you are feeling. You will also get blood draws, give urine, and have a physical by the study doctor. We will also take pictures of your skin lesions to keep track of their progress. For the first year of the study, you will give yourself injections of the study drug or placebo while at your visits. Then, for about six months, we will continue to see you to make sure you are still doing well.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus (CLE)
  • You have active CLE skin lesions
  • You have tried antimalarials in the past and they haven't worked

Not eligible if:

  • You have any other active skin conditions
  • You have severe lupus nephritis
  • You have lupus that is affecting your brain
