First Impressions Study

What will be asked of you

If you're interested in participating, a team member will call you to ask some eligibility questions. If you're eligible, you will have an online Zoom session to sign some paperwork and do part of the social task. Then on another day, you will come to the UNC medical campus during a weekday afternoon to get 3 blood draws, complete the rest of the social task, fill out questionnaires, and possibly have an MRI scan (randomly assigned).

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate:

  • you're 18-30 years old
  • you're in good general current health
  • you're right-handed

Not eligible if:

  • you have any non-removeable metal devices/implants/objects in your body
  • you have a current chronic physical or mental illness
  • you take prescription medications or regularly use nicotine / recreational drugs
  • you're currently pregnant
  • you have a BMI over 35
