Dupilumab for Eosinophilic Esophagitis with Severe Strictures (DESTRICT Study)

To determine the effect of an FDA-approved drug on treating patients with severe strictures and Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)

What will be asked of you

At each visit you will complete questionnaires. You will be asked to complete an upper endoscopy (a procedure where a scope with a light and camera on the end are inserted into your mouth and down your throat to your stomach) 4 times during the study. Blood and biopsies (tissue samples) will be collected during each endoscopy visit. You will receive dupilumab administered under your skin weekly for 52 weeks, and you will be taught how to administer dupilumab yourself.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Are 16 years of age or older and weigh at least 40kg (88.2lbs)
  • Have been diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
  • You have active Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
  • Your EoE has not responded to other medications or therapies
  • You've had at least 4 dilations for stictures, at least 2 in the past year

Not eligible if:

  • You have other eosinophilic GI conditions (eosinophilic gastritis, enteritis, or colitis)
  • You are allergic or intolerant to dupilumab
  • You've had part of your esophagus removed
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
