Chronic Kidney Disease and Type 2 Diabetes Treatment Study

In this study, we will learn more about the safety and effectiveness of a study treatment that is injected into one of the kidneys of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease and Type 2 Diabetes.

Age & Gender

  • 30 years ~ 80 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)

What will be asked of you

This study involves around 21 visits to UNC-Chapel Hill over 2 years and 10 months. Participation includes 1 kidney biopsy and 2 study treatment injections. We will also do some scans of your kidneys and other lab tests.

Incentives

up to $2625, routine physical exams, vital assessments, and lab work; images of your kidney

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have Chronic Kidney Disease due to Diabetic Nephropathy
  • You have a Diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes

Not eligible if:

  • You have received a Kidney Transplant
  • You are currently receiving Renal Dialysis
