Chronic Low Back Pain and Group-based Mindfulness Study

The purpose of this study is to determine if group-based mindfulness training improves pain and functioning more that usual care for people with chronic low back pain.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

You will be asked to complete surveys throughout your time in the study. You will be randomized into one of two groups in the study, either the group pain management program or the usual care group. If you are assigned to the group pain management group, you will take part in 8 weekly group sessions via Zoom. All participants in the study will take follow-up surveys and have phone calls with the study team regularly.

Up to $365

Total length of participation:
12 months

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • you have had chronic low back pain for at least 3 months.

Not eligible if:

  • you are pregnant or have been diagnosed with metastatic cancer.
