Re-Energize Governance of Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience for Sustainable Development

The purpose of this study is to determine how policy and governance can improve disaster risk reduction, recovery and resilience at the national, state, and local level in Morehead City, NC. Our team conducted a review of governance approaches towards disaster planning and response, including policy measures that support decision-makers and identification of vulnerable communities impacted by natural disaster events. We have identified both stakeholders affected by these policies and those who are in decision-making positions. The team will solicit input from these stakeholders at a national, state, and local level to improve this review through incorporation of this expert input and lived experiences.
