How tags affect users finding and evaluating fanworks

In this study, participants will complete a diary each time they visit the Archive of Our Own describing the form of the visit and how they chose to engage or not engage with any fanworks during that visit. They'll keep the diary over the course of 2 weeks. After participants complete their diary, they'll perform a 30 minute follow-up interview discussing their responses. This study will explore how users find and choose to engage with fanworks, with a focus on the tagging system of the Archive of Our Own.
