QOL Following Surgery in Malawi

The results of this study will inform pre-surgical, in-hospital, and post-discharge interventions aimed at optimizing outcomes and driving quality improvement processes at Kamuzu Central Hospital. This study seeks to identify the incidence of common post-surgical complications and patient reported HRQOL outcomes after surgical intervention in orthopedic trauma at KCH. This information will be useful to the surgical team at KCH, other Malawian surgical departments, and patients and surgeons in other counties in sub-Saharan Africa. Furthermore, this study will help inform care and resource allocation in Malawi.
