ANCA vasculitis - figuring out who really needs maintenance therapy

This is a study for patients with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) vasculitis who are in remission after treatment. We want to learn if a special blood test can help us identify which patients could be monitored without additional immunosuppressive maintenance treatment. This study will not test new medications. We will use the same medications currently used for maintenance treatment of ANCA vasculitis.

18 years ~ 85 years

What will be asked of you

At each study visit, you will meet the study team, have a blood draw, a urine collection, and a physical exam. There will be a phone call to ask how you are doing between visits.

In-person visits:
9 to 21

Phone or online visits:
0 to 21

Total length of participation:
2 to 3 years

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

you have been diagnosed with ANCA vasculitis
your disease is newly in remission
you can come every month to UNC for check-up

Not eligible if:

since being diagnosed, you have often relapsed
your doctor thinks you need maintenance therapy
you have an infection such as HIV, hepatitis B or C, tuberculosis
