How do gender biases in the automotive industry affect the experiences of female employees in dealerships?

Utilizing a series of questionnaires for my research project, I hope to obtain a comprehensive understanding of how job experiences differ on the basis of gender. Moreover, I endeavor to question whether the perception and promotion aspects influence female employees' experiences. I wonder, when positioned as minorities in male-dominated industries-belittled in perception and underrepresented in promotion (Darley et al., 2008; Esser et al., 2018)-are females more inclined to challenge the stereotype or personify the stereotype? My project will consist of a survey distributed to males and females in leadership roles at automotive dealerships. I will study multiple measures of female experience and influencing factors. Such inquiries will help me determine how females respond (in terms of experience) to stereotyping in their workplace.
