Study on Psychological Effects of Corporate Solidarity Statements during Mega-Threats

My first study will examine whether corporate tokenistic solidarity would yield a more significant change in work outcomes for Black employees versus White employees. Participants will participate in an experiment to respond to two hypothetical situations about an organization's response to a mega-threat, specifically a police killing of a Black American. I chose to use vignette experiments because they are especially suitable for collecting data on behavior that is hard to observe firsthand. The participants will be hypothetical employees at the described organizations in the vignette experiments. The first vignette experiment will be an organization responding with authentic brand activism, and the second will be about an organization responding with inauthentic brand activism. If participants negatively respond to inauthentic activism, we should observe decreased organizational identity, citizenship behavior, and social behavior. Additionally, if my first set of hypotheses is correct, then the changes in work behavior should be more considerable in
