UNC Multidisciplinary Melanoma and Uncommon Skin Lesion Registry

This study is a patient registry and a biospecimen bank. The registry and tissue bank include tissue samples, medical clinical data, photographs, and questionnaire data. All data and tissues will be available as a research resource. The information we use from your record will not be able to be connected back to you.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Study is 100% remote - no in-person visits
  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

What will be asked of you

We would like to access your medical record for information relating to your skin cancer or unusual skin lesion. Data will be put into a database for future research study use. We would like to take pieces of your tissue specimens sitting in storage for biologic and genetic testing. These can be used for a variety of research studies aimed at learning more about how skin cancers work. No identifiable data are shared outside of the research team.

15 minutes of your time, medical record follow up indefinate

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • you have a skin cancer, other than basal cell cancers
  • you have an unusual skin lesion that could be cancerous

Not eligible if:

  • you have a basal cell skin cancer
