MiSLE Stem Cell Study for Lupus

The purpose of this study is to see whether an infusion of stem cells improves lupus disease activity when compared with a placebo infusion. Other studies have shown that stem cells help reduce inflammation and are thought to be safe. This study will help confirm whether this is an effective and safe treatment for lupus.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 65 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)

United States (Nationwide)

What will be asked of you

At each visit you will give blood and urine samples and have a physical exam performed by the study doctor. You will also complete questionnaires about how you feel your lupus activity is that week. This study also includes 1 chest X-ray, 1 EKG, and 1 infusion of stem cells or placebo.

Incentives

Up to $650, milage/transportation, parking.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have been diagnosed with lupus
  • Your lupus is active

Not eligible if:

  • You have lupus nephritis requiring dialysis
  • You have HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or TB
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have had a change to your lupus medication in the last three months
  • You have received IV stem cells before
