Adapting a Diabetes Distress Scale in the Dominican Republic

The purpose is to assess comprehension and acceptability of a 17-item Diabetes Distress Scale among Dominican adults living with diabetes. We will do this by interviewing Dominicans with type 2 diabetes to determine if the questions as written in the questionnaire are appropriate for use in their country. It is important to test out if questions are appropriate before applying them in a future study because poorly understood questions can introduce mistakes in the data collection, analysis, and interpretation processes.
