The primary aim of this study is to assess how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected resident-physicians' behavior regarding the 2020-2021 fellowship cycle. The secondary aim is to assess if the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected fellowship applicants' behavior according to age, gender, ethnic/racial minority group, and those currently training in areas where there has been a higher rate of infections.
The study will investigate the effectiveness of a transition course that reteaches clinical interviewing, physical exam skills, oral presentations, and note writing to students who have spent an extended period of time away from formal medical school training.
Despite their critical role in the success of clinical research studies, the information needs of clinical research study staff are poorly understood. Additionally, few studies have applied user-centered design methodologies to the development or improvement of electronic data capture systems (EDC) in clinical research. This study aims to (1) identify and analyze the information needs of clinical research study staff involved in prospective clinical research studies, and (2) to offer a set of key recommendations for the design of electronic data capture tools used in clinical research.

The goal of this doctoral dissertation is to explore maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity of Black women in the US to gain a deeper understanding of the upstream and downstream factors that influence maternal outcomes and then to understand the policies and programs that can be used to address them through applying an equity lens.
