The purpose of this study is to understand how the health literacy of a parent or primary caregiver might affect their child's outcomes following a traumatic injury.
The study involves recording participants' productions of different types of syllables and measuring the duration speech sounds within those syllables. Measurements will be compared between syllable types to establish patterns that will then be compared between languages to determine whether such patterns are universal or are language specific.
