It is well-documented that first-generation college students experience unique struggles in the transition to college. The experiences of first-generation college students are often examined as a whole, as compared to their continuing-generation peers (e.g., Harackiewicz, Canning, Tibbetts, Giffen, Blair, Rouse, & Hyde, 2014); however, within-group differences among first-generation college students also exist. The purpose of the study is to examine differences in the transition to college among first-generation college students.
