Statins Use in Intracerebral Hemorrhage Patients

This is a study being conducted at many sites across the US to evaluate patients who are older than 50 years old, who have sudden bleeding in the brain (intracerebral hemorrhage) while taking a statin medication. It is unclear if continuing to take a statin medication after this type of injury can increase the risk of another hemorrhage, stroke or cardiac event. This study will assign patients to 1 of 2 groups. One group will continue the statin medication they were taking previously. The other group will discontinue the statin medication. Both groups will be followed for 2 years to see if they have any additional medical events.

Improving Trafficking Survivors' Experience Engaging with Media

Media are an important resource for the public and policymakers to learn about the issues of human trafficking. Survivors' voices are often missing from media coverage, however, and in some cases, survivors have reported negative interactions with journalists. This study surveys the experiences that survivors of human trafficking have had or want to have with media. Results will contribute to understandings about and improvements to media practices, and to develop training materials and other resources for survivors to be best-prepared to work with media as news sources and storytellers.
