I am analyzing what motivates people to protest against abortion. I am pitting three common explanations of pro-choice protest participation against each other in a survey experiment: (1) those focused on religiosity; (2) those focused on the role of hierarchical pressures; and, (3) those focused on norms developed within groups.
The primary purpose of this study is to obtain measurements in objective measures of physical function, muscular strength, power, body composition and self-reported quality of life at baseline and 12 and 24 weeks after initiating androgen receptor signaling inhibitor treatment in men with metastatic prostate cancer.
The purpose of the study is to collect information on the training done on Telehealth and Primary Care in Medical School. This information will be collected from Internal Medicine Residents. This will then inform training curriculum and clinical experiences for Telehealth for the Residents and future medical students.
This study will assess and provide recommendations to improve the processes of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to use colleges and universities to provide technical assistance to communities in disaster recovery field actions.
Asking people living with long-haul COVID about their experiences at the MAHEC Long Haul COVID Clinic
Purpose: to establish a Registry of pediatric patients treated with proton radiation therapy. Participants: Patients who are less than or equal to 21 years old at time of treatment start and treated with radiation therapy at one of the participating centers. Procedures (methods): This Proton and Photon Consortium Registry (PPCR) enrolls children treated with radiation therapy to form an expansive description of the pediatric population that receives protons and to better catalogue the benefits of protons, in this cohort. The data will also be used to evaluate practice differences and help facilitate collaborative research across the various radiation centers. The PPCR collects an expanded set of demographic and clinical data that will enhance the practice data that many participating radiation centers already collect in their routine operations. The PPCR has been expanded to include a photon-treated control group, helping to facilitate comparative effectiveness analysis.
This study will evaluate the impact of standing orders support for the whole primary care team on HPV vaccine communication and uptake.
Makerspaces have been a topic of interest for libraries as of late, and research has described how library makerspaces are able to impact their designated communities. However, many libraries themselves that have or want a makerspace do not explicitly state or even know the benefits makerspaces have on youth. The purpose of this study is to fill the knowledge gap between teen development and the impact makerspaces have on those developmental assets by stating how research defines and connects the two areas. In particular, this study will look at the perceptions and experiences of public librarians that work with teens and makerspaces.
The virus that causes COVID-19 disease infects many people, but only some get sick. We want to understand how COVID affects the immune system and what makes severe COVID infections different from other diseases that cause hospitalization and breathing problems. We collect samples of blood, sputum, urine, and stool from patients in the hospital to learn how COVID affects cells and molecules of the immune system.
The purposes of the study are to determine the number of types of challenges reported to an online referral system for issues pharmacy preceptors/teacher encounter with pharmacy students during their training in practice environments and to determine the outcomes of interventions and resources needed. Another purpose is to determine which types of these issues pharmacy preceptors feel comfortable managing with or without additional support from the school or with additional training. This will help streamline resources and provide training needed.
