In this study, I propose a new approach to studying emotions in politics. I assume that emotions about politics is communicated social information, which functions similarly to political judgements. Individuals' political attitudes are largely guided by ideology and what is deemed normative in their party peer networks (Bartels, 2000; Hetherington, 2001). For instance, democrats will often make judgments that are more associated with the democratic values, because this is how they feel and this is how they show their belonging to the democratic flank. In a similar logic, when asked about emotions, citizens will not feel how to feel about a political event, rather they will run in memory a set of plausible associations (Lodge and Taber, 2005) and choose the one that most accurately accommodates their ideological position.
The purpose of this study is to understand who protests in support of and against liberal democratic institutions, norms, and values when illiberal, populist governments attack them. I will conduct interviews with individuals who protest in defense of these attacks on liberal democracy as well as against these attacks on liberal democracy in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Romania. These interviews will take place on Skype.

Individuals who suffer anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are at an increased risk of developing knee osteoarthritis, a condition that results in chronic pain and disability. The purpose of this research study is to determine if adding vibration to standard rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction surgery improves gait biomechanics (how your joints move while walking); muscle function; symptoms, disability, and quality of life; and indicators of knee joint health more effectively than rehabilitation alone.
