Multiple Myeloma study

You are being asked to take part in this study because you previously agreed to receive a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drug, idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel), for the treatment of your disease as part of routine care and not a clinical research study. You had the blood collection (leukapheresis) (pronounced loo-ka-fer-ee-sis) procedure, your T cells (a subset of your white blood cells that are part of your immune system and attack things like infections and cancer cells) were collected and genetically modified in a laboratory in order to manufacture the ide-cel T cells for your disease treatment. The ide-cel T cells that were produced do not meet all of the prespecified release criteria to be used as a routine prescription drug as required by the governing health authority (such as the FDA) where you are being treated. For example, the modified T cells may have a lower cell

Tobacco Use and Golf Courses in the United States

Tobacco use remains a public health crisis today as the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Even though cigarette use has declined over the last decade (38.7%), other combustible use such as cigars (large cigars, cigarillos, little cigars) dramatically increased. One area of promotion that has received little attention is relationships between cigar use and sports, particularly golf. Golf is an incredibly attractive outdoor sport to adults as well as young people. Golf tournaments are attended by millions of tourists annually, and golf events on television are seen by hundreds of millions of spectators. Golf also has historical relationships with cigar use that have sustained high rates of cigar use despite the knowledge of the death and disease consumption of cigars entail. The purpose of this survey is to better understand tobacco policies of golf courses around the United States and how likely they are to change.

Transnational Information Systems

How do we talk about news and politics across generations and languages within Asian diasporic communities? This research study examines mis/disinformation in transnational, intergenerational, and multilingual communications networks - specifically within Asian diasporas. In this project, we aim to learn more about how personal histories of migration connect with political engagement and media use by co-creating methods and processes for intergenerational conversations. We invite self-identified Asian Americans who grew up in the U.S. to hold one-on-one conversations about news, social media use, and personal history with a family member and/or close friends from a previous generation who may use communications platforms, such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Kakao, and Line, and Asian language media outlets, including newspapers and news shows.
