We are trying to understand how blood clots form and use this information to prevent bleeding and clotting disorders
The goal of this study is to uncover the frequency of low oxygen levels during sleep in pregnant women that have severe sickle cell disease. These women have a high risk of complications during pregnancy, and low oxygen levels might contribute to the complications. Therefore, finding and treating low oxygen can be impactful. The study will also look at blood cells and assess how low oxygen affects them.
1. To create a prospective cohort of pediatric IBD patients with active disease initiating or changing medical, dietary, or surgical therapy. 2. Identify unique subgroups of pediatric patients with high likelihood of response/non-response to specific therapies through integrated analysis of demographic, clinical, and multi-omic molecular data. 3. Define surgical, clinical, and endoscopic outcomes of ileal surgery for pediatric Crohn's disease and clinical and molecular predictors of post-operative endoscopic disease recurrence.
The purpose of this project is to identify and target barriers faced by rural endometrial cancer patients in order to develop a patient navigation intervention. Rural residents with endometrial cancer, the most prevalent gynecologic cancer in the US, have higher odds of mortality than urban endometrial cancer patients. As the number of new endometrial cancer cases is expected to increase 50% by 2030, this urban-rural disparity is expected to continue widening.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ALXN1720 for the treatment of generalized MG (gMG) in adults with autoantibodies against AChR (AChR+).
Our researchers are interviewing Mental Health First Aid training participants (MHFAiders) at UNC-CH to understand their experiences and thoughts related to the program, in order to better evaluate and cater to the needs of our university and community.
The DNA that we can test from a nasal swab, can help us determine a patient's lung cancer risk. For patients with new lung nodules found on CT scans, we are offering this nasal swab test and collecting data on how physicians use test results to help assess risk and determine treatment strategies.
Infants who require neonatal care for serious health conditions commonly have problems with feeding that persist well into childhood. This project is highly relevant to public health because it will describe early biological and behavioral symptoms of problematic feeding that tend to progress to chronic feeding disorders. This will identify early time points for delivery of symptom-based interventions to prevent the shift to a chronic feeding disorder and promote the development of healthy feeding patterns.
The SELIGO study assesses perceptions of HIV treatment - including long acting injectable antiretroviral therapy (LAI ART) - among people living with HIV infection (PLWH) and HIV healthcare providers (HCPs) to develop strategies and tools to facilitate shared decision-making by patients and provider considering HIV therapy options.
The main purpose of this study is to explore the safety and tolerability of an investigational (not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration [FDA]) bacteriophage (a virus that infects and makes copies of itself within bacteria) product, called AP-SA02, given to people who agree to take part in this study (study subjects) and have Staphylococcus aureus Bacteremia (SAB) a type of infection of the blood. For the rest of this document the investigational bacteriophage product will be referred to as "study drug".
