The purpose of this qualitative study is to identify the impacts of book challenges on the experience of sexual and gender minority youth in public libraries in North Carolina.
Targeting Equity in Access to Mentoring (TEAM) ADVANCE (NSF Award 1760187) promotes accessible, equitable, and effective mentoring across the University. We provide educational materials and resources to chairs, deans, and administrators to support departmental mentoring. We also offer intersectionality-informed programs to improve faculty mentor and mentee experiences at each faculty career stage, and measure the impact of our interventions through quantitative and qualitative means.
This study is looking to compare the outcomes and cost of treating infected joints with surgery or aspiration with a needle combined with injection of antibiotics. Many patients with infected joints are too sick to safely go to the operating room for surgery, thus we are investigating outcomes and cost of less invasive treatment options such as using a needle to aspirate the joint and inject antibiotics.
To assess the challenges and support needed to serve as a clinical champion for non-invasive ventilation in hospitals for patients with COPD
To evaluate the safety and tolerability of ascending dose-levels of multiple intrathecal bolus (ITB) administrations of ION582 in patients with Angelman syndrome (AS) based on incidence and severity of treatmentemergent adverse events (TEAEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs), changes in vital signs and changes in clinical laboratory results.
The purpose of this study is to interview content experts in the field of peer support and mental health in order to gain their input on findings from a large literature review of peer support services that reach people with schizophrenia. The utility of my investigation will be to elucidate how the actors in the EV and clean auto tech realm of North Carolina interact to push the market forward. I aim to identify likely avenues of future EV charging infrastructure development in the state. As Raleigh has been a leader in this realm, I plan to conduct several interviews with government officials from Raleigh. Beyond EVs, I also hope to pinpoint the other most prominent clean technologies in the automotive sector, with special attention to those that might cross over into other advanced manufacturing sectors, e.g. aerospace engineering or non-vehicular motor-driven products.
The purpose of this study is to inform the teaching and learning of Computational Thinking (CT) concepts and skills in primary school. CT refers to problem-solving strategies in which problems are represented and solved using methods that can, in principal, be implemented by a computer or other digital tools. CT is often taught through coding (computer programming), but this places high demands on written language skills, which is less appropriate for primary school students who are still learning to write.
To determine what factors may affect access to buprenorphine in rural community pharmacies.
We are conducting a study of adults age 60 or greater who are receiving treatment for multiple myeloma. The goal is to assess the willingness of these individuals to pursue additional supportive care interventions during their myeloma treatment and to see how effective these interventions are. Participants who have previously completed an assessment of their symptoms and function (as part of this study or an earlier study) will be referred to supportive resources based on problem areas that are identified on their assessment. We will later follow up to repeat the assessments and evaluated patients' satisfaction with these services.
