Childfree by Choice Study

This study is a survey for people who have chosen to not have biological children and who have looked into or currently seeking a sterilization procedure (i.e. "getting your tubes tied"). We want to learn more about the challenges patients may face when seeking a voluntary sterilization procedure. This knowledge may help physicians better counsel patients in the future.

EVOLVE Study: Understanding risk for depression in the pubertal transition

Help us understand female adolescent depression! Starting at puberty, girls are almost three times more likely to be diagnosed with a mood disorder than boys. The goal of the EVOLVE study is to understand the impact of changing hormones, stress, and sleep on mood symptoms during the pubertal transition.

The Effect of Different Music Styles on the Brain

The purpose of this study is to investigate how different genres of music affect our performance on cognitively demanding tasks. In the study, participants will listen to brief selections of music while performing a visual task. The ultimate goals of this experiment are to (1) better understand how popular music today may affect cognitive performance and (2) add nuance and diversity to the field cognitive psychology by exploring genres beyond classical music.

Civic engagement amongst formerly incarcerated Black women in North Carolina

This is a research study to learn more about how being incarcerated impacts Black women's desire to be civically engaged. We want to understand if coming in contact with the criminal justice system makes Black women more or less likely to engage with politics at any level. This includes voting, attending town halls, or protesting and community organizing.
