The purpose of this project is to understand factors that contribute to/facilitate trustworthiness so that we can address those concerns in the COVID-19 communication materials we share. We will use concept mapping, which is a mixed method research approach for engaging voices and organizing ideas of a group of people to help understand complex concepts. We will take what we learn from Concept Mapping and use it to tailor NIH materials to be culturally responsive to their respective communities.
The proposed study will add to the growing literature exploring the impact of environmental turbulence on the organizational operations of local governments. We seek to study the changes in performance management practices in the public sector in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study adds to the research on cut-back management in local public organizations that focuses on the recession. Previous research on performance management during turbulence has shown a heightened use and effectiveness of local public organizations' performance management practices. The proposed study will take this research forward by exploring: • The extent to which COVID-19 impacted performance management systems in different local government departments. • The factors that lead to higher or lesser use of performance management during the crisis. • How leadership support and perceptions surrounding performance management impact the use of performance management in line departments during the crisis, and • Whether performance management helps local governments in economic recovery.
To understand the complex recruitment environment caused by COVID-19 in the context of a statewide practice-based Quality Improvement study. We will interview North Carolina Area Health Education Center (NC AHEC) Practice Coaches about their experiences with recruitment before and during the pandemic.
The purpose of the study is to develop effective, sustainable strategies for promoting rapid, REMOTE risk communication strategies for COVID-19 and future public health crises, by using the power of social connections within rural, Black faith communities. This pilot is conducted in partnership with Word Tabernacle Church in Rocky Mount, NC. We will develop COVID-19 risk communication packages for congregation members with and without access to technology, with the hope of sharing broadly to other rural faith communities in the future.
This is a public opinion poll on how North Carolinians used their COVID stimulus checks and their attitudes toward the stimulus package.
To understand the unique experiences of low-wage, front-line, health workers and identify strategies to support them during the pandemic, we will conduct in-depth qualitative interviews in three states (CA, PA, and NC) with workers across three parts of the health system (ambulatory, hospital, and long-term care settings).
The purpose of this study is to examine how different workplace policies affect decisions made in companies. For example, how remote or in-person work relates to perceptions of employees.
This study is investigating how the ability of racial and ethnic minorities to access healthcare has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
