Minds & Milkshakes

You and your child may be able to take part in a study designed to help us learn more about what children eat. During several visits that include surveys, taste tests, blood draws and even a brain image, we can learn more about the eating behaviors of children. Compensation provided.

Weight Loss Medication (Ozempic) Study

In this study, we want to learn if a medication commonly used for weight loss and blood sugar control affects how people respond to alcohol. This will help us to learn if this medication may be helpful for people who drink alcohol. This is not a treatment study, and it is not intended for people who are actively trying to quit drinking.

IgA Nephropathy Microbiome Study

The purpose of this study is to compare diet (record of the foods you eat), gut microbiome (stool sample), and cells (blood sample) in adults with IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) and compare with adults with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and adults with no history of medical problems. The information we learn by doing this study may help us understand how we might be able to target the microbiome to better understand the disease process and potentially help us develop new therapies in the future.

The Taste Study

The purpose of this research study is to test differences in food intake of items with flavored and non-flavored counterparts. The data generated will be used to select future research tasks in other studies.

Cancer Family History in Black Families

The survey and its findings will help us understand attitudes around cancer family history and genetic testing among Black people. Children with Hearing Loss Sleep Study

Does your school-age child seem tired or fatigued? If you have a child with hearing loss or a child with normal hearing, you may be able to participate in a research study to find out if listening fatigue is associated with differences in sleep outcomes. Compensation provided.

Developing treatments for type 1 diabetes

We are studying different approaches to modify the activity of immune cells, such as T lymphocytes, that are involved in mediating type 1 diabetes. We need a small amount of blood to prepare T lymphocytes to test our therapies.
