The Effects of Cervical Spine Bracing on Gait and Balance

This study aims to characterize how gait mechanics are altered when the neck is immobilized or an excessive curve of the spine is induced via a 3D printed neck collar.

Cigar Warning Youth Advisory Board

The research study seeks to improve the effectiveness of warnings for little cigars and cigarillos (LCCs) among youth. Scientific findings will provide novel and necessary evidence regarding the effectiveness of LCC warnings and will inform efforts to strengthen warnings through larger warning size and added images. Ultimately, this research can be used to reduce LCC use among youth and lessen tobacco-related disparities.

Afro-Latino/a Heart Health

Are you a Black Latino/a/x (Afro-Latino/a/x) adult living in North Carolina? Would you be interested in sharing your experiences of what it means to be Afro-Latino in your day-to-day life and how it relates to your health? If so, you may be able to participate to a study that focuses on Afro-Latinos and their health, with a particular interest in cardiovascular health. Compensation provided. ¿Eres un adulto Latino Afro-descendiente (Afro-Latino) viviendo en Carolina del Norte? ¿Le interesaría compartir sus experiencias de lo que significa ser Afro-Latino en su vida cotidiana y como es relacionada con su salud? Impact of Walking prior to Prolonged Sitting Bout on Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Measures

In the study we are looking at how a bout of walking performed prior to prolonged sitting impacts arterial stiffness (non-invasive cardiovascular measure). This is important as increased arterial stiffness from prolonged sitting increases the risk for cardiovascular disease.
